- Weight and texture on the palate, from tea-like to syrupy.
- Sweetness
- Perceived sugar and ripeness, the backbone of balance.
- Aroma
- What the cup tells your nose before the first sip.
- Finish
- How long the flavor lingers, and how cleanly it leaves.

The five axes are your coordinates; the flavor wheel is the map. Once you can place a cup on the radar, the wheel helps you name what you found — stone fruit, cocoa, jasmine, cane sugar — moving from how much to exactly what. Start broad, then spiral inward.
